by Rita Carpenter, NODA The Set Built by the Society members, the set was well constructed with double doors at the back of the stage and French windows opening on to the garden. It was well decorated with effective wall lights and beautifully furnished in keeping with the era in which the play was set. Lighting and Sound The lighting was smooth and effective and the sound effects, especially the exploding umbrella and the smoking bomb, which later exploded, were superb, increasing the tension of the moment.
