Pulling Together
Every production that the Players put on is full of unique challenges. Whether it’s figuring out a particularly complex piece of staging or managing a cast of 30, there’s always plenty to keep our members on their toes.
Summer shows are particularly unique in that they are our only production based on non-professional content. Meaning, of course, that for better or worse, we write the shows ourselves. This year’s show had the added challenge of having an incredibly short rehearsal period because of the late Easter. In just four weeks, we went from zero to dress rehearsal for a show that in almost every regard is as complex as our pantomimes, and we get three months to rehearse those. Such a feat would not have been possible without a cast and crew who have been willing to put in so much extra effort over these few weeks. It was nearly inconceivable a month ago that we would end up with a show that has such fantastic lighting, music, singing and comedy, and that’s thanks to everyone involved working so hard and working so well together.
As director, I would like to offer each and every person involved my heartfelt thanks for your efforts and I hope that now we’ve arrived, you enjoy the performances every bit as much as I’m sure our audiences will. Old Pishampton expects! And is proud.
James
